Collect orange clay with a Bucket
Clay has a distinctive orange color and is carried with a Bucket. Find a clay patch, follow the collection prompt while holding an empty bucket, and bring the clay to the building that needs it.
An empty Bucket is not a delivery of Clay. Check that the bucket contains the resource before returning to your production line. Nearby water can be a useful place to look, but clay is not established as spawning only beside water.
Set up a Clay Pit
The listed Clay Pit unlock is Sanguis Celeste. Build it from a Workbench with:

Assign a worker, then connect the pit’s Output to Material Storage Input through a Logistics Tent. Use the resource connection type and check the destination’s stock.
The Clay Pit description says it can gather clay without nearby clay tiles. Do not assume the building must sit directly on an orange patch. This rule should not be extended to every resource a pit can produce in other biomes.
If the pit works but deliveries do not
Check direction, resource type, the worker and destination capacity. The June 10 version 0.25.1_12 patch fixed logistics failing to transport items from clay pits and lumberyards, with a note that rebuilding may be required. For an affected old save, consider that repair path after checking the connection.
Use clay in the Brick Oven or in the Concrete Mixer chain.
