Romestead Volcanic Ash: collection, storage and Concrete Mixer

At a glance

Collect light-grey Volcanic Ash with a Bucket or use the described Volcano Clay Pit route. Send raw ash to a Concrete Mixer; it cannot go directly into Material Storage, while the resulting Concrete can.

Collect the light-grey resource with a Bucket

Volcanic Ash is the light-grey resource in the Volcano. Carry it in a Bucket. Orange Clay, ordinary stone and lava are different objects.

Hold the bucket, follow the resource’s collection prompt, and take the ash to the equipment that consumes it. The available description does not establish a universal key binding or bucket capacity.

Send ash to the Concrete Mixer

The described automated route is a staffed Clay Pit in the Volcano, connected by Logistics Tent to a Concrete Mixer. Do not assume a Clay Pit in any biome produces ash.

The listed Clay Pit unlock is Sanguis Celeste, with 6 Lumber, 10 Stone and 3 Clay to build it. Its ordinary clay rules do not establish whether ash production works without an ash patch nearby.

Why Material Storage will not accept it

The Volcanic Ash description says the raw material cannot be stored directly in Material Storage. Route it to the Mixer instead. The finished Concrete can be sent to Material Storage; the raw ingredient and the output have different storage behavior.

Research the Concrete Mixer at the University for 20 Research Paper. Its listed building cost is 8 Lumber and 6 Stone.

Input Amount
Water 1
Clay 1
Volcanic Ash 1
Result: Concrete 2

Clay and ash can be supplied by logistics in the described chain, while water is added manually with a Bucket. If the Mixer stops, check all three inputs, especially water, before changing the route. Do not describe this as fully automatic concrete production.
